Mystic Link Trail

A vibrant network of open spaces between the Merrimack Valley and Mystic River watershed into Boston.

FOLLOW US:

Bare Meadow and Mattera Cabin

The Mattera cabin end of the trail has parking, signage, and the cabin.
The cabin is there, but is currently not open for use.
There is a ramp that leads to the cabin to make it more accessible.
The woods around the cabin features tall pines.
At the other end of the walk there is a wildlife viewing platform.
Trails are marked with white blazes.
Signs by Reading Trails Committee give you more info.
Look for this bench in honor of Judy LeBlanc.
Woods are a dense mix of pine and some hardwood.
There are boardwalks in potentially wet areas.
The opposite entrance from Mattera has its own sign.

Bare Meadow is right at the northern end of Reading and walking through it connects to the interesting Mattera Cabin at the other end, where there is lots of good parking. (The cabin is not currently open for use.)

The Mystic Link Trail runs right through Bare Meadow.
